Ultimate Ninja Athlete Association

UNAA Season 11 is a national and international pathway of Area Qualifiers, Regional Qualifiers, World Finals prelims, and World Finals main events.

Pathway

How the League Works

01

UNAA Season 11 consists of Area Qualifiers, Regionals, Prelims at World Finals, and the Main Event at World Finals.

02

Athletes may attend any Area Qualifier they choose. Once qualified, athletes may attend any Regional, regardless of location.

03

Area Qualifiers are held by UNAA-qualified gyms on dates chosen by those gyms and approved through UNAA scheduling.

04

Each Area Qualifier advances the top three or 50 percent of each class, whichever number is greater, to Regionals. For odd numbers, UNAA rounds down, so the athlete must be at or above 50 percent of the class.

05

Regionals and International qualifiers advance the top five athletes or the top 30 percent from each class to World Finals. The 30 percent number is not rounded up.

06

If a tie occurs in a qualifying position, all tied athletes in the qualifying position move on, including athletes who move into qualifying position because of the tie.

07

Athletes may compete at multiple Area Qualifiers and Regionals. Once an athlete is already qualified, their later placement does not block another athlete; qualifying rolls down to the next eligible athlete within the qualifying rules.

08

Athletes must be at least six years old to compete. For Season 11, age is determined by the athlete's age on January 1, 2026.

09

Each athlete chooses one class for the season and remains in that class for the duration of the season.

Rules

Course Rules

UNAA uses a point system for scoring.

Each host gym creates its own course with 10 to 15 total obstacles. Each obstacle is worth either one point or two points.

More difficult two-point obstacles may include a clearly marked halfway point. Reaching that halfway mark earns one point and does not count as a fail.

If an athlete does not complete a one-point obstacle, it is a fail.

There is a maximum of three fails per course. After three fails, the athlete's scored run is over. They may finish the course, but they do not receive score for remaining obstacles.

The athlete's time ends with the last obstacle completed.

Athletes must begin at the starting point of each obstacle before moving to the next obstacle.

Courses must include at least three upper-body obstacles, three lower-body obstacles, and one balance obstacle.

Each course must include a kids course and an adult course. Gyms may create additional age and skill-level courses as needed.

Course designers are not allowed to compete in their own competitions. Courses are not revealed until competition day.

7U, 9U, and 11U must have separate courses. 13U and 15U may compete on adult courses with age-appropriate adjustments.

Course time limits are set by the host gym at the beginning of competition.

Supporting structures may not be used unless the Head Judge defines them as part of the obstacle.

UNAA gyms must clearly mark obstacle starts, finishes, and halfway marks and provide a course walkthrough.

General climbing chalk and athletic tape are allowed. Gloves and sticky finger products are not allowed. Chalk bags may be worn but count as part of the athlete.

Video protests must be submitted within 60 minutes of the run and require the stated protest fee. Athletes, parents, and coaches may only protest for themselves or their athlete.
